Strategic Litigation Handbook

This manual is one of the outcomes of a joint project of the European Roma Rights Center, Interights and Migration Policy Group , which aims to provide technical assistance to local and regional human rights organizations to make best use of the opportunities arising from the adoption of EU race equality directive. It discusses the concept of strategic litigation with examples of cases brought by the European Roma Rights Center . It also discusses the jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice with respect to "direct effect" of community law in EU member states. Also included is the report of a workshop where lawyers discussed how they dealt with litigation challenges.
